Herbal's Return

The band really get it going though on 'Bruce Miller'. This is a great funky jazzy jam of a song. A great groove and jamming guitar solo at the end. The final track is a dub remix of 'We Love The Herb'. I look forward to hearing the bands full length studio CD and some more live. Their performance at the Cannabis Cup blew me away."

The following is an excerpt from an interview with Mike "Stumpy" Neckritz by Robin Caudell of the Press-Republican. Read the entire interview

The funk, the whole funk, and nothing but the funk. 4 non-stop hours of pure, heavy funk. Not many bands can deliver original funk on a higher level than Herbal Nation.

Drummer/manager/driver Mike "Stumpy" Neckritz put the Providence, R.I.-based band together about six years ago. The band's name is derived from two former bands, the punk-rock Neutral Nation and Herbal Assault.

Herbal Nation consists of Sleepa on guitar and vocals, frontman T-Buck, Stoo Lee on sax, Sweet Willie Myette on keyboards, T-Black on keyboards and vocals, Sweet Thomas Brinkley on bass and Jaz Nixon on percussion and vocals.

The first song the band wrote together, "We Love the Herb," has become its anthem. "We are pro-hemp in all it's uses - medical, industrial and personal enjoyment," Neckritz said. "All the songs don't speak of it, but it's an underlying theme without a doubt."
